the containers arrive...

The land has been drying out for a few days...
We have had rain and floods since the beginning of the year and access to the farm has been difficult and some days impossible.
Because the farmland has not been cultivated for many years, the stormwater drains have not been opened for many years and have closed/silted up.
Whenever we had a rain, and believe me - we had enough of that! - the rain overflowed onto the road and into the fields....making a huge black mud pot!

Today however we are moving our storage containers from work to the farm.

Claude and the foreman of the trucking company already had a meeting on site and they decided that the road would indeed be dry enough to take the trucks with the containers .

Arriving at the land I really had a few moments of anguish....what if the trucks (there were two of them) get stuck?

Claude leading the way...truck number 1 following......

Truck number 2 arriving.....

moving through the trees towards the compound....

One of the difficult spots .....the truck have to line up and then speed across the mud towards the compound....
Lining up.......
and as fast as possible ahead....

Obviously made it!
It was such a relief to see the containers on the land....

...and voila! now the farm shed can be built.

Thanx a lot to Williams & Gosling, our Fiji trucking company, Mike and George and their daredevil drivers!
